General Description of Face and Neck Lift:

The face and neck lift belongs to the large family of facial lifts. This cosmetic surgery procedure corrects sagging facial skin, removes excess skin and tightens underlying tissues, including muscle and fat. The intervention steps of a face and neck lift

  • For this facial cosmetic surgery, two preoperative consultations with a plastic surgeon are necessary, as well as a consultation with an anesthesiologist.

     

  • Before and after neck lift photos will be taken, and a compression press-lift will be prescribed.

     

  • The preoperative instructions for any facial surgery are as follows:

     

    • Stop smoking at least 1 month before the procedure and up to 1 month after to reduce the risk of necrosis and complications.Stop taking the contraceptive pill 1 month before to avoid thromboembolic risks.

    • Stop all anticoagulant or antiplatelet treatment 15 days before.

  • The procedure takes place under general anesthesia for a complete facelift, lasting 2 to 4 hours depending on the technique used. For a mini-facelift, only local anesthesia is necessary, and the duration of the operation is then 1h30.

  • The steps are much shorter and simpler for a mini-facelift than for a complete cervico-facial lift.

     

  • The cervico-facial lift is not a painful procedure, and the aftermath only requires simple painkillers.

     

  • Patients can leave the day after or even the same evening after the procedure.

     

  • Swelling and bruising may appear in the following days.

     

  • It is advisable to avoid social activities for 5 to 15 days.

     

  • No nursing care is necessary after the procedure, and showers are authorized the next day.

     

  • Baths are not recommended for 1 month.

     

  • It is also recommended to protect scars from sun exposure for at least 1 year.
